An interesting woman came to see me who wanted to commission an automaton for her expecting daughter. She wanted the piece to allude to the coming grandchild, but not to be cute, and to tell a story about the family the unsuspecting child was about to be born into. Her son-in-law is a fisherman and had once been considerably surprised to pull up a lobster pot only to find it full of shark. Hence stalk, lobster pot, shark!
